AAL Programme legacy publication coming soon

For the past 14 years, the AAL Programme has been at the forefront of driving innovation and advancing solutions to support active and healthy ageing across Europe. As the Programme has now officially ended, it’s time to reflect on its significant achievements and the wealth of knowledge generated throughout its 14-year lifespan.

In July 2025, AAL will release a comprehensive Legacy Study, which will offer an in-depth analysis of the Programme’s long-term impact on improving the quality of life for older adults and contributing to the sustainability of healthcare systems across Europe. The study will highlight key successes, lessons learned and provide valuable insights into areas where efforts may have fallen short.

This legacy document will be accompanied by an executive summary and will feature a dedicated interactive section on the AAL website. It will also shine a spotlight on successful project outcomes and products. These products are those that made it to market and are now helping older adults lead more active and healthy lives by offering practical solutions tailored to their needs.

This exciting publication will serve not only as a retrospective of the AAL Programme’s many achievements but also as a valuable resource for national and international stakeholders looking to promote and build on AAL’s legacy.

Stay tuned for the full release in July 2025 – a pivotal moment in reflecting on the AAL Programme’s remarkable journey and its lasting impact on the future of ageing and healthcare in Europe.
